Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Kent

28th September 2013

Last Saturday, 28th September, I had the privilege to visit Margate at the invitation of V.W.Bro. David Green PGJO.

David and I first met when the Temple Team visited St Andrews Lodge of MMM No 279 in Gillingham on 12th June 2009 for the Kent Mark Charity meeting.

We have been in each other’s company many times since as David, having been appointed as an Assistant Provincial Grand Master in 2008, is a regular visitor to West Lancashire.

I had known the PGM of Kent at the time, R.W.Bro. Roger Croucher, as he is a member of the Mark Token Collector’s Club, of which I am Treasurer.

Unfortunately I was not to meet Roger at Margate as he had just retired and the Pro Grand Master, M.W.Bro. Ben Addy, was in attendance to Install Roger’s successor, R.W.Bro. Archie Torrance.

It then gave me enormous pleasure to see David Green Installed as Deputy Provincial Grand Master.

At the Festive Board I glanced across a crowded room and observed another West Lancs tie.
No, not our own PGM, but none other than W.Bro. Peter Brockbank PProvGJW!

We both cast our eyes towards the north in the hope of observing R.W.Bro. Peter Connelly but, alas, Northumberland was beyond the horizon.
